4 hours of sleep. 6 hours of train ride. 8 more hours till the event. Reunions, beautiful people and a lot of good music. When it all started, the energy really kicked in and I was ready for a night I will never forget.

Last Friday, on December 11 at Arenele Romane, the Romanian trance family gathered for a (sooooooooooo) long awaited event, the debut of miss Emma Hewitt in our beautiful country. Even if she had another show in Cluj a day before, the show from the Arenas was in my opinion the official debut.

It all started with Sundancer, a local DJ, who had the perfect warm up. Even if I lost the first 4-5 tracks, I enjoyed the rest of the set to its fullest. With tracks like Ilan Bluestone – Cloudchaser, Jean Michel Jarre & Tangerine Dream – Zero Gravity (Above & Beyond Remix) or Beat Service – So much of me is you you can’t stay still and not feel those beautiful sounds. The highlight of the set was one of my favorite tracks of this year: Marlo feat Jano – The dreamers, a track that gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. It is a perfect combination of lyrics, vocals, sounds and feelings!

PS. Moment of pure pride: the logo I made for Sundancer and was displayed on those big beautiful screens made me go to heaven and back! I love seeing my work appreciated and seen by lots and lots of people! ^_^

After Sundancer’s set, it was time for Snatt and Vix to ”hit those buttons”! And as announced they played an album set. It was a good one, I liked it, but only a few tracks really caught me: Synthia , GO! and Skyrise (a collaboration with Keyplayer). I really appreciated the live performances of Alexandra Badoi and Grelus Andreea, a young romanian violonist. It’s nice that the guys are collaborating with her, because she is indeed really talented and she deserves it. There where some small technical difficulties and we couldn’t hear the violin at first, but after solving the ”issues”, the moment was pretty great! It was nice hearing again ”Soapte” (Whispers), a track that for was ”love at first hear”. It is a really catchy track, a really good one. Also, I think that even the ”non trance” Romanians will love it!

Snatt and Vix

Two perfect sets, two perfect ”warm ups” for another true artist,  the trance queen of all times, an ”out of this world voice”: miss Emma Hewitt! It is amazing to finally see her live on stage and such a performance. Tracks like ”Be your sound”, ”Sun and Moon”, ”Coming home”, ”Restless hearts” or ”Rewind”gave me goosebumps once again. Every time I attend a Vocal trance moment I cry, I feel, I sing. Even though I have a terrible voice and I probably left the guys next to me with some ”ear damages”, I can’t help it. I can’t not sing along with the amazing artist from the stage the tracks that I once insanely listened on repeat, I can’t not lose myself into the moment and enjoy it to its fullest! Emma is indeed one of those artists that are perfect on the stage too. Her voice sounded like in the studio. There were no false notes, no differences than the tracks we were so accustomed to. It was P E R F E C T!

A real surprise for me was the after-set with Snatt & Vix again, a classic-uplifting-perfect-trance set that gave me back all the energy from the previous 3 acts. I completely lost it and dance it till the end! How couldn’t I? With tracks like:

Tiësto featuring BT – Love Comes Again (I think it was a remix, but I don’t remind exactly which one)

Ferry Corsten vs Armin van Buuren – Brute (Armin’s Illegal Drum Edit)

Ferry Corsten presents Gouryella – Anahera

Matt Darey Feat Kate Louise Smith “See The Sun” (Dan Stone Rework)

Vini Vici – The Tribe

Aly & Fila feat. Ever Burn – Is It Love (James Dymond Remix)

I couldn’t stay put. I couldn’t ”keep calm”. I just lost my self into the music and enjoyed it. A very emotional momenta was also the one dedicated to #colectiv, when the guys played See the sun, the visuals completed it and all the people in there thought of all the tragedy that happened on October 30. A tragedy that is still live in our souls.

Overall, I loved the whole event. I loved all those small moments that made it emotional. I loved the people, the crowd, the family. I enjoyed every second of it and cannot wait for the next one! (See Trance legend Ferry Corsten @ Arenele Romane on March 5!

Also, I will come soon with a full review over the first Romanian Trance album – Trancendance from Snatt and Vix, album that will be released on Christmas! Stay tuned!

Trance on!

PS. If a track listed above is wrong, be kind. I don’t remember exactly if it was a remix/ mash up or original track. I was too lost into the music! 🙂

PPS. All the credit for the photos goes to Alex Saioc – You can find the whole album here.
